Reflection Guide: Applying God’s Design for Relationships

As we finish this Godly Relationships Series, take some time to pray through what you’ve learned and how you can live it out.

Assess Where You Are

  • What stage of life are you currently in – single, dating, engaged, or married?
  • How would you describe the health of your closest relationships right now?
  • What patterns (healthy or unhealthy) have you noticed in your approach to relationships?
  • What core beliefs or assumptions do you have about romance and marriage?

Discern Where God is Leading You

  • What areas of growth or change is the Holy Spirit highlighting as you review this teaching?
  • Do you sense God calling you towards greater relational health in some connections? To let go of any? To wait before pursuing romance?
  • What new ways of thinking about relationships do you feel the Lord wants you to take hold of from His Word?

Make a Commitment to Grow

  • What specific and measurable goals can you set to apply this teaching on relationships?
  • Are there any unhealthy relational habits or distortions to surrender to God?
  • What new spiritual disciplines or wise mentors might help you build relational maturity?
  • How will you tangibly hold yourself accountable to walk out healthy relationships?

As you think through these, ask the Holy Spirit to guide you and show you your next steps. Be honest with a mentor or friend you trust. Journal or pray through whatever the Lord shows you.

Living out God’s truth won’t always be easy, but God promises to finish the work He started in you. He’s pleased with every small step of obedience you take toward His design for your relationships. May His grace give you strength as you choose to walk in wisdom, integrity and hope today!
