Day 18: Staying in the Light

Jesus exhorted us to forgive the people who mistreat us. We do this out of gratitude for the way that He graciously forgave us. The character of God is mercy, compassion, and forgiveness. In the same spirit, God calls us to live like that as well.

Meditative Scriptures

  1. Mat. 18:15-20
  2. Gen. 4 and 5
  3. Heb. 12:1-17
  4. 1 Jn. 1:5-10
  5. Mt. 5:21-26
  6. Psa. 103
  7. 1 Cor. 13

Application

  1. Give an example during outreach when the “root of bitterness” or unforgiveness has started taking place in your heart. Share with your team how Matt. 18:15-20 teaches us how to deal with this offense and what to do next.
  2. Describe in your own words what “keeping things in the light” means. Create a “word picture” for your revelation.
