When the Lord disciplines us, He reveals His displeasure with an area in our life. This is not the same thing as God’s displeasure with us as a person. Some mistake divine correction for divine rejection. God hates the sin yet delights in the one He disciplines.

Application
- Describe the difference between a holy God’s discipline versus a broken human dad. Describe any false perspectives of our heavenly Father that need to be repented of.
- Explain the eternal consequence if God never disciplined you.
- Give an example of how someone who had Jesus as their First Love would respond to Jesus disciplining them.
- What are the differences between God’s final judgement and His discipline? What are the similarities?
